Field Technician
Data Collection/Photographer
Description:
Our Field Technicians provide on-site services for automotive and RV dealerships within a prescribed territory. Duties include: traveling to customer sites, collecting vehicle information using specialized data collection equipment, positioning and photographing vehicles, and maintaining computer based vehicle inventory files. The right candidate will consider this to be an unique and challenging position. This is not a desk job - you will be working outdoors in all weather conditions. Data collection will require visually inspecting vehicles for engine, drive trains, trim packages and associated options. Vehicles are digitally photographed for exterior and interiors photos, the photos will need to be inspected and software corrected for any errors. Technicians will need to utilize a variety of electronic equipment in the performance of their duties.
Vehiclemart maintains the highest standards of quality and service and will need a person with the same expectations. This position requires very close attention to detail and a proven ability to work independently while maintaining schedules. Candidate must have a professional appearance with and excellent attitude, have a reliable fuel efficient vehicle, and high speed Internet access at the time of employment.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate their knowledge and/or skill level with computers and vehicles during the interview process. Additionally, the candidate must have an excellent driving record. Training will be provided for the right individual. Occasional travel to other territories or other states may be required. Previous work references, background check, and drug test will be required.
Position Duties Include:
* Inspect and electronically collect vehicles information and options.
* Position and photograph exterior and interiors of vehicles.
* Print and apply vehicle window stickers.
* Update and maintain computer based inventories.
* Maintain excellent working relationships with customers.
* Maintain good communications with management and staff.
Desired Background, Skills, and Abilities:
* Be a self-starter and work well independently.
* Excellent knowledge of autos and/or RVs.
* Experience working in an outdoor environment.
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computers.
* Knowledge or experience with digital photography and/or digital video equipment.
* Knowledge of various programs such as Excel, Access, Word, etc.
* Ability to maintain documentation and take notes.
* Ablity to learn quickly and a desire to expand their skills.
* Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Maintain a positive and professional attitude and appearance.
* Excellent problem solving capability.
* Communicate new ideas and work as a team.
